We work with our patients so they can achieve and maintain a beautiful smile and healthier gums and teeth.  We take the time with our patients to explain their treatment options and inform them of additional preventive care.  We feel this will lead to a more trusting doctor/patient relationship and, for many people, relieve the stress about seeing a dentist.

We take pride in providing you with a comfortable office experience where our qualified staff is friendly and knowledgeable.  Our office is conveniently located in Lake Oconee Village and we invite you to call with any questions or email us via  the contact us or request an appointment page of our website.  We will do everything possible to ensure you have a pleasant visit.

Digital x-rays
For all of your x-rays, we use digital, computerized, sensors that show you your x-rays on a screen in less than a few seconds. Using this technology allows us to cut down on radiation and provide a safer environment for you. There are also no chemicals involved and the results are instantaneous.  Digital x-rays allow us to partner with you in your care by showing you the images on a computer screen, and thus increasing communication and understanding.

Intraoral camera
An intraoral camera is about the size of a pen, so it fits easily into your mouth. Once positioned, it sends pictures to a monitor, where your teeth and gums appear in a full-color, usually as a very large image.  Now you can see the cracks in fillings and dark areas of decay.  Want a copy of the image?  We can print one for you. This allows you to take it home to help your spouse understand why you're having dental treatment.

Invisalign
The invisible way to straighten your teeth without braces is available right in our office.  Invisalign can help you get the great smile you’ve always wanted because it’s invisible, removable, and comfortable.  You can also view your own virtual treatment plan in our office before treatment!

CAESY Patient Education/CAESY Showcase
CAESY is a program accessible in all of our operatories used to educate the patient on various procedures and conditions used in the dental office.  It uses easy to follow videos to explain everything specific to your case leaving no questions left unanswered.  CAESY Showcase is a new software program used to create case presentations that can educate and show you your specific needs.  It includes pictures of your mouth along with treatment options and videos specific to your mouth.  We can make a cd containing this information and send it to you after your first visit.

Conscious Sedation
The most commonly employed technique of conscious sedation in dentistry is inhalation sedation with nitrous oxide and oxygen (N20-02) (Laughing Gas).   The goal sought when N20-02 is used is to eliminate dental fears, making the patient more comfortable while the dentist is able to more effectively complete the planned treatment.   For those patients who cannot tolerate gas, or who prefer an alternate means of relaxation, we can prescribe medication to help you relax.

Periodontal Antimicrobial Therapy (Arestin)
The dentist may have determined that you have periodontal disease, a chronic infection of the gums and bones that hold your teeth in place.  If left untreated, the gums and bones holding your teeth in place can be permanently damaged.  We use a special deep cleaning procedure called scaling and root planning to remove plaque buildup and bacteria from infected areas.  During this procedure, we may apply an antibiotic called Arestin (minocycline HCL) 1mg microspheres to the infected gums.  The microspheres then gradually release the antibiotic over time, allowing it to work over the course of 14 days.  Throughout that time, Arestin helps fight the infection, allowing your gums to heal.

Rotary Endodontics
Root canal treatments are more easily accomplished today than ever before using mechanical instrumentation with rotary nickel titanium instruments.  With this technique, after thorough anesthesia, the nerve tissue in the canals of the roots of teeth can be rapidly removed.  The canals are sterilized, dried and sealed in much less time than with hand instrumentation.  Most treatments are completed in one office visit with little or no post operative pain.

Bleaching/WhiteningCustom Whitening Trays:
These trays are custom made by a member of our staff and provide you a lifetime of whitening opportunites.  You are fitted and instructed how to use the trays and given a generous supply of whitening gel to get started.  Optimal results usually take about two weeks and once you achieve that level you can maintain your whitened shade with regular boosts.

ZOOM2 in Office Whitening:
This is the cutting edge of teeth whitening!  The same carbamide peroxide gel that is used in all of the systems is applied directly to your teeth and using a laser curing light the whole process is expedited and its effectiveness increased.  Most of our patients whiten their teeth six to eight shades in just under a two hour visit. This is the perfect option for those who lead a busy lifestyle, and want white teeth in a hurry.

Composite Restorations/Fillings
To remove and repair decay or to replace an old amalgam or "silver" filling, tooth colored composite material can be bonded or fused to the existing tooth structure.

While composite material is first and foremost aesthetically pleasing, it has tremendous functional properties as well.  Composite restorations can prevent decay-causing bacteria from getting into the inner part of the tooth as well as prevent fractures due to the expansion and contraction characteristics of amalgam fillings.  As mentioned earlier, the composite material is bonded or fused to the tooth and reacts to temperature similarly to natural tooth structure.  Previously used amalgam material does not have this atrribute so when the tooth expands from heat the filling does not.  If pressure is applied to the tooth at this moment through chewing or clenching, the filling can be driven deeper into the tooth.  Quite simply this is like a lumberjack using a wedge to split a log.  Composite restorations clearly have beauty twofold, aesthetics and functionality!

Crowns and Bridges
When the structural integrity of a tooth has been weakend by decay, fractures, defective amalgam fillings or previous root canal therapy we are likely to recommend a crown or "cap".  If you  have had some dental problems and have lost few teeth or your were born with congenitally missing teeth you may have noticed a few things.  You may have found difficulty with chewing food, articulating your words and speaking clearly or you may have even noticed the shape of your face changing.  If this is the case we may be likely to recommend a multiple unit bridge.  All crowns and bridges begin with an appointment to prepare the teeth for permanent restoration, during this appointment you are fitted with custom temporaries.  While your restorations are prepared, the temporaries will protect your teeth from further damage as well as let you get the feeling for what your new smile will feel and look like.  Your permanent restorations are prepared by a select group of aesthetic laboratory technicians using the materials we have prepared and your desires for the restoration.  This process takes two to three weeks.  When completed your permanent restorations will be delivered and your new smile will be ready to go.

Veneers
There is no reason that you should have to put up with teeth that are worn, crooked, badly shaped or spaced improperly.  Veneers can be the answer to a mistake of nature or the results of an injury and help you have a beautiful smile. Veneers and crowns are very similar however a veneer requires the removal of less tooth structure and a greater artistic talent.  Veneers are a thin, custom made shell crafted of tooth colored material placed to cover the front of the tooth.

Implants
A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that is placed into your jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. Dental implants are an ideal option for people in good general oral health who have lost a tooth or teeth due to periodontal disease, an injury, or some other reason. Implants are also an excellent solution for patients who do not function well with conventional dentures and need additional retention.  Special dentures can be made to attach to an implant.

TMJ Splints/Nightguards/Occlusal Guards
A removable custom fabricated appliance that is used by the patient at night (or daytime) to limit the deleterious effects that are caused by clenching and grinding to the teeth, musculature and the TMJ

Sports Mouthguards
These removable, custom dental appliances , when worn can help to protect the hard and soft tissues of the mouth from damage caused by traumatic blows and collisions.  The value of an athletic mouthguard simply cannot be overstated.  It has been estimated that as many as one third of all injuries treated by dentists are sports related.

Sleep apnea devices/Silent Nite Snoring applicances
The majority of snorers can be treated with dentist prescribed oral snoring appliances such as the Silent Nite. This also serves as a wonderful adjunct in those patients who do require surgery to treat their OSA and snoring, increasing success to 85 - 90% in those patients. A properly designed dental snoring / sleep apnea appliance can go far in rehabilitating the patient with sleep deprivation.
